Students will be introduced to the art of the ancient Egyptians through their elaborate masks. During this introduction, students will learn that the Egyptians were one of the first people to develop an alphabet, called Hieroglyphics!

The students will learn about the history of Impressionism. Students will then have the opportunity to create their own impressionistic paintings, studying various art prints by Claude Monet’s water lily series.

The students will learn about the history of the Middle Ages through their illuminated manuscript pages. Students will have the opportunity to create their own illuminated manuscripts through foil relief.
