Everyday objects can benefit the most from excellent industrial design.

The key to good industrial design is its dual goals: Things should be both beautiful and functional. They should not only work well, they should make you want to use them.

The Organization of World Nations has given us a list of things that must be redesigned for the alien ambassadors. They want us to redesign four objects.

Three are in the hotel room: a chair, a telephone, and a pen. And one—a car—is a gift for the alien ambassadors to take back to their home planet.
