think you're right! Leonardo da Vinci had his fingers in a lot
of pots. He was an artist, scientist and inventor. For years, he paid his
bills by working as a military engineer.
"You see, the Renaissance was a time of discovery and learning, but it was also a time of war. The Italian city-states constantly clashed with each other and were at war with Spain and France. Leonardo designed many machines to help defend his patrons.
"What do you think each of these machines were for?"
